Reception
Mrs McGuire and Mrs Williams
Welcome to the cohort page of Reception. This page is updated frequently to reflect the exciting learning and experiences lived in reception.
High quality early years education, with a strong focus on communication, is good for every child and our curriculum is designed with this in mind. We aim to support children to develop the characteristics of effective learning and to ensure that by giving them what they need today, they will be equipped to succeed tomorrow.
If you have any questions, please send an email to stocreception@gmail.com . We would be thrilled to receive any pictures or videos of your child – whether it be celebrating work or special occasions.
Feathery Visitors!
The children celebrated World Book Day and were surprised by a visit from four real owls last week! This was a perfect end to our six week study of the book ‘The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark’ by Jill Tomlinson. The owl handler talked to the children about the owls appearance, diet and behaviour and helped the children to really appreciate what interesting and wonderful creatures owls really are. Throughout the session, the children were introduced to new vocabulary relating to animals. One of these words was ‘camouflaged’.
