Nursery Toher
Nursery Autumn 2014
Parents should be very proud of how well we have settled into Nursery. We have spent the last few weeks learning all about our new routines, making friends and exploring all the exciting things our school has to offer.
We have enjoyed our topic of ‘Nursery rhymes’ and learned some new versions of our favourite songs, including ‘Baa baa black sheep’ and ‘Incy wincy spider’. We would love to share these songs and rhymes with you at home. We have particularly enjoyed listening to the story of the gingerbread man and, more importantly, eating the biscuits we created!
You may have noticed that our classroom is looking particularly colourful and interesting. We have been working hard to put our own stamp on the place and have been very imaginative, painting portraits, decorating collages and drawing pictures – we love being creative and enjoy painting, drawing and making!
We love to sing and dance and have learned lots of new songs and rhymes. We really enjoy actions songs and counting songs like '5 Little Ducks', '1, 2, 3, 4, 5, once I caught a fish alive' and '5 Cheeky Monkeys'. Below are links to some of our favourite songs that we can practise at home.
Here are a few pictures of our favourite things that we like to do at school.
We are being encouraged to become more independent in looking after ourselves at school. Over the half term break, it would be really helpful if you could continue to help us - practising going to the toilet, putting on our own coat and wellies and blowing our nose!
Our topics for the coming term include autumn, food, toys and Christmas.
Please can you make sure that we have spare clothes and a warm coat for the cold winter days ahead. Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions, comments or concerns our door is always open!
