Year 5 Bagnara
Welcome to Year 5B
Year 5B have made an impressive start to their penultimate (WOW week commencing 2nd November) year in primary school. All of the children have worked extremely hard during a very, very busy half-term.
As well as Religion, Maths and English, the children have learnt about the effects of the Industrial Revolution during History week and how to create a still life drawing during our Art days. Their art work will soon be on display. The children have deepened their understanding of Creation in Religion and some of their work will also be displayed. So look out for Creation Art, coming soon on a junior corridor near you!
We have turned our role play area into a Victorian workhouse classroom. What fun we have had acting out classroom scenarios. We are so glad teaching has changed since Victorian times!
During Dance lessons, the children have been working on dance formations linked to God's Creation. Well Done to St. Thomas Moore who won our inter house dance competition. Their dance was brilliant and inspiring.
We have read our first class reader; Kensuke's Kingdom and we are looking forward to the next one: Tales of Terror from the Black Ship. We are half-way through our class novel; Street Child, which inspired us to write our own class harvest assembly. This was presented to the juniors and our parents on the last day of half-term. We decided to focus on the hungry in our local area.
A big thank you to everyone who brought in food for our assembly and to parents who stayed and took part in our 'Stay and Play' session. I hope parents enjoyed the maths games and well done to Mr. Abiola, who is currently our' Round the World Champion'. Hard Luck Testimony!
After the holidays, children who would like to be House Captains will present their manifestos (WOW week commencing 9th November) to the juniors and voting will take place. Good Luck!
