Year 3 children, can you tell those at home your Lenten promise?

Collect worship

We have collective worship every day in class and we would like to invite all parents/guardians to come and join us every Thursday morning.

World Book day!

We had a great world book day! Thank you to all the children and families for taking part. We looked amazing! Keep reading and enjoying your favourite books.

Spellings

Your child will be given spellings every Friday. These will be posted on Google Classroom  We will complete a spelling test the following Thursday.

TTRS

We will be practicing our times tables every day! Children will be given their own log in for the TTRS website where they can access and practice in their own time too. Our aim is to get faster and proficient at our times tables.

Maths
Firstly, this term we will be looking at Place Value. We will be partitioning, ordering and comparing numbers up to 1000. We will then be moving on to addition and subtraction where we will be building up to subtracting
a 2-digit number from a 3-digit number using the formal method.
And lastly, we will be working with the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables during multiplication and division. Problem solving and Reasoning tasks will be part of every lesson. Our aim is to encourage a positive attitude towards solving problems and speak about their maths using key vocabulary.
The learning of times tables will be an ongoing theme this year and we hope that you will be able to support your child at home with any games etc. that will be sent home.
