Welcome to the Year 1 class page, where you will find important information and photos to keep you up to date with what your child is learning in school. 

The Year 1 team consists of: 

1C- Mrs Clifford, Mrs Quinn, Miss Kakanskas 

       Mrs Brown (Thursday afternoon and Friday) 

1P- Miss Power, Mrs Rafferty and Mrs Agha

Year 1 have enjoyed learning about the story of creation and retelling the story in our own words. We drew and wrote about things we are thankful for in God's creation and talked about how we can work together to care for the world we live in. More recently we have been learning about the Annunciation. Can you remember what happened when Angel Gabriel visited Mary? 

Our Mastering Number lessons have been fun! We have been working on our mastery of numbers within 10, including 1 more/less, greater and less than, equal/not equal sets and doubling numbers. Great work Year 1! 

During Autumn 1, we have been building on our learning during Reception, naming a variety of body parts and exploring the five senses. We especially loved tasting different foods and using specific words to describe their taste. Can you remember which food tasted bland?
